“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” Ephesians 1:3
Christmas
Greetings:
The
adoption of our daughters is a wonderful reminder to me of the true
meaning of Christmas. Our girls were orphans without much hope for
the future but because we chose them to be part of our family, they
are sealed as ours forever, have obtained the same inheritance as our
other children and have hope for a better future.
In
the same way, we were all spiritual orphans, lost in darkness, dead
in our sins with no hope. But God, in all His love and mercy, sent
His son, Jesus, who transforms those who believe in Him as their
Savior, from death to life in Christ. Personally, I find it humbling
that God chose me and through faith in Christ, I am an adopted
daughter of the King. In Christ Jesus, God has blessed me with every
spiritual blessing: redemption through His blood, forgiveness of
sins according to His grace, spiritual wisdom, and I am sealed by the
Holy Spirit of promise as His and can look forward to a life of hope
and an eternal inheritance. Clearly, there is no greater Christmas
gift than that which God has offered us through His Son, Jesus
Christ. In March, there was much rejoicing in the Fitch household
and in heaven as God graciously brought Betty and Jeri to faith and
adopted them into His kingdom also.
Jeri
and Betty are now in 4th and 2nd grade respectively at home and at the cottage school they attend 1 day a week. It is amazing how quickly they
have learned and caught up with their peers. Jeri skipped 3rd
grade! Their favorite activity is playing with friends, American Girl
dolls, creating beautiful artwork, camping and they also enjoy cross
country skiing. Jeri was
treated to a day at the salon for her birthday and now has straight
hair which is much more manageable than her tight curls. No more
tears! They are both still growing like weeds. They gained 3 inches each and 19-20 pounds in the last year. They are maturing into lovely little ladies. It seems
like they have always been part of our family even though it has only
been 2 years since they came home.
May
you know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His
glorious inheritance in His holy people and His incomparably great
power for those who believe. Ephesians 1:18-19
